Currie Named Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Women's Student-Athlete of the Year
5/14/2008 - La Salle graduate student William Rhea and junior Lamarra Currie of Charlotte have been named the Atlantic 10 Student-Athletes of the Year in men's and women's outdoor track & field, respectively, in voting conducted among the Conference's sports information directors, league officials announced Wednesday. After winning two events at the 2008 A-10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship, Currie was named Most Outstanding Track Performer earlier this season. Read Full Release
Charlotte Takes Five Yearly Awards as it Three-Peats for Atlantic 10 Women's Outdoor Title
5/4/2008 - Junior Lamarra Currie captured gold in the 100m and 200m dashes while teammate Aja Jackson won the 800m and 1,500m events on Sunday as Charlotte won its third consecutive women's title at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at the Track & Field Complex on the campus of the University of Massachusetts. Springs, Dagnachew and Outing Take Titles in First Day of Competition at Atlantic 10 Championships
5/3/2008 - Despite chilly conditions and intermittent periods of rain, five meet records were established on the opening day of competition on Saturday at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Men's & Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at the Track & Field Complex on the campus of the University of Massachusetts. Junior Pat Springs, senior Tsehaye Dagnachew and junior Lamarcus Outing captured gold in their respective events, with Springs' winning an unprecedented third women's long jump title.
