49ers World Series To Begin This Weekend

Charlotte, N.C. - Loren Hibbs and the defending Atlantic 10 Champion Charlotte 49ers will finish up their 2007 fall practice schedule with three Niners World Series intrasquad scrimmages in the following two weeks.

The stadium dedication ceremony will remain as scheduled on Friday at 4:00 p.m. The dedication ceremony includes the presentation of A-10 Championship rings to the 2007 baseball team, which set a school record with 49 wins.

All players will be in uniform as the squad is split into two teams of black jerseys and white jerseys for the exhibitions.

Fans are asked to bring canned goods in lieu of admission, which will be donated by the team to the Second Harvest Food Bank later this fall.

Game One will now be Saturday at 5 p.m.

Game Two will take place on Sunday, October 21, beginning at 5 p.m.

Game Three is scheduled for Friday evening October 26th, with first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.
