Preseason All-America Nagy Fires Final Round 67 at Topy Cup

Tokyo, Japan - Junior preseason all-America Corey Nagy (Charlotte, N.C./Vance H.S.) fired a final round 67 as the 49ers placed 8th at the 2008 Topy Cup.
Nagy's 67, the third-lowest round of the day, lifted him into a tie for 9th-place, individually, at three-under par, 213. Sophomore Will Golden (Auburn, Ala./Auburn) shot +1, 73 to finish at +4, 220.
The 49ers posted a final round of +3, 291 to finish with a three-round total of +15, 879. Tohoku Fukushi won the event with a three day total of -29, 835. Lamar was the top American university, placing second at -9, 855.
Charlotte, which is ranked 13th & 19th (GCAA/Golf World & Golfweek) in the preseason polls, also received a +7, 223 from senior Stefan Wiedergruen, a +8, 224 from junior Blake Stark and a +12, 228 from senior David Rawluk.
The 49ers next event will be at the PING/Golfweek Preview, Sept. 28-30, at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, site of the 2009 NCAA Championship.
